Our SMBLA qualified leaders and tutors offer guided rides for all levels of Mountain Bikers. Whether you wish to explore the delights of a gentle cycle trail or the many disused railway tracks, or you are a competent Mountain Biking who wants to explore the mountains or experience the thrills of “Black” cycle trails. Day trips, weekends or longer, we can organise a ride to suit you:

Level one rides – for those with basic of road riding skills. Usually on gentle trails, disused railway tracks and Sustrans routes. Ratio 1:8
Pre entry requirements
You will need to be happy riding your bike on dirt tracks and happy with the techniques covered in the level one course. (Click here for level one course)


Level two – for those who wish to ride the single track. Locations include forest and woodland, including green and blue trails, and moderate moorland trails. Ratio 1:8
Pre entry requirements
You will need to be happy riding blue graded or moderate single track (experience of some easier red trails or wild country rides is beneficial but not a mandatory) and competence with the techniques covered in the level two course. (Click here for level two course)


Level three Trail Riding – if you want to ride the red and black trails, then our leaders can guide you through along the trails and through the obstacles. Ratio 1:6
Pre entry requirements
You will need to be happy riding red graded routes or more difficult single track (experience of some black trails is beneficial but not a mandatory) and competence with the techniques covered in the level three trail riding course. (Click here for level three course)


Level three Wild Country – for the thrill and adventure of mountain biking in our hills and mountains, our leaders can guide you through some of the most wonderful Wild Country Britain has to offer. Ratio 1:6.
Pre entry requirements
You will need to be happy riding red graded or technical single track (experience of some black trails or wild country rides is beneficial but not a mandatory) and competence with the techniques covered in the level three courses. (Click here for level three course)

Drink for during ride (non fizzy and must be carried)
